57 Sh4tter Fl4k - Cryo Rakk AttackFl4k build by AbbyHour updated 1 month ago
Video walkthrough and gameplay: COMING SOON!
This cryo rakk attack build is all about hitting as many enemies as possible with high cryo efficiency weapons and abilities, to help with survivability and increase damage against frozen targets. Also, because Rakk Attack is a quick action skill with a short cooldown, we can take advantage of action skill end anointments to boost our elemental damage even further!
This build is great for mobbing but also wrecks bosses! Plus, you can easily switch to fire rakks and change weapon elements to suit your activity in Borderlands. The gear for this build is very flexible, but let's talk about my preferences.
- cryo and kinetic weapons because they have the highest damage on the card compared to other elements.
- add two more elements using the anointment "on action skill end, gain 50% bonus elemental damage with weapons for 10 seconds." on your shield and grenade. Change these up to match the enemies you're fighting, or even stack cryo damage to freeze quicker. Not only is this elemental damage added to your weapons for 10 seconds, but this elemental damage is also added to your rakk damage. For general gameplay, I prefer cryo and radiation bonus elements since they are the most neutral.
For the class mod, you can either use Rakk Pak or Cosmic Stalker. Both of these have their advantages.
With Rakk Pak, each rakk attack will split into additional rakks, allowing us to hit more enemies and take advantage of the weapon anointment "Enemies damaged by Rakk Attack take 100% increased damage for a short time" This anointment is multiplicative boosting your damage even further against those targets.
Cosmic Stalker, on the other hand, boosts Fl4k's skill power which can increase your damage overall. With this class mod, because the rakks won't be hitting many targets, you're better off choosing the weapon anointment "On Action Skill End, weapon damage is increased by 100% for a short time." This anointment is additive, meaning it's added at the end of the damage equation. Even though this anointment doesn't output as much as the rakk one, it doesn't rely on your rakks finding a target.
So choose the class mod that works for you based on the weapon anointments you have.
For our grenade, we're using the Hunter-Seeker, which helps us maintain Furious Attack stacks, but you can also use the It's Piss grenade for more damage, which I would recommend against bosses. Or the Power Siphon Tran-fusion Grenade (Atlas for homing).
For the artifact, we'll be using an ice breaker victory rush (or ice breaker otto idol) with cryo efficiency as a perk. Or you can also use the Pearl of Ineffable Knowledge if you own the second DLC. On the Pearl, I prefer magazine size and health regen.
For the shield, there are a lot of options including the Old God for 20% additional cryo damage, the Stop-Gap, Re-Charger, Transformer, and even the Frozen Heart shield. Find one with good perks, a large capacity, and an elemental action skill end anointment. If you feel too squishy, you can also try the anointment "On Action Skill End, regenerate 5% max health per second for a short time." This will basically always be active since we're throwing rakks often. It can help when facing harder content, especially once Mayhem 2.0 comes out, but right now I don't thinks it's necessary and would opt for more damage.
