CHROMATIC SWAN · Revisiting a True Melee Amara Build for Mayhem 4Amara build by Stone_Swan updated 1 month ago
Another version of my true melee (not Facepuncher) build, M4 capable, with relaxed gear requirements. See original ("Black Swan") video here: https://youtu.be/_hfrQCSXHcc
Principles: Increase melee damage by direct boosts, as well as by adding elemental damage. Many different elements are encouraged so you can handle all situations and max out the benefit from Harmageddon (guardian perk). Use Ties that Bind to link and kill many enemies at once.
Buttplug - the gun we hold while meleeing, used to greatly increase melee damage
Facepuncher - for bosses, flying enemies, and getting back up from FFYL.
[Any Element] Stone Static Charge - adds [any element] and shock to our melee attacks. +Action Skill Cooldown Rate required. I like the Cryo Stone, but that's just my preference.
300% Brawler's Ward - with 100% melee on Action Skill End anointment (recommended) or 50% bonus elemental damage anointment (acceptable). Adds a ton of straight melee damage and some useful healing.
Shield for bosses:
Shooting Star (while shooting with the Facepuncher) - elemental resistance required (makes the stars elemental for healing with Sustainment) and bonus elemental damage anointment required. The Shooting Star behaves weirdly, and you may need to shoot the boss in a strange spot for the stars to hit.
Breaker - +1 Find Your Center is required. +Action Skill Cooldown Rate is required. Jab Cross points are helpful, Personal Space is not. Damage Reduction on this mod is very nice.
Fastball - Cryo version recommended, with 50% bonus elemental damage anointment. The anointment is necessary, the grenade itself is super helpful with proccing strong dots on enemies. Fastball isn't strictly necessary - only the anointment is. But it's still highly, highly recommended.
Fake grasp to proc anointments, grasp an enemy in a group, throw a Fastball at them, and get to work. If you grasped the strongest enemy, by the time you're done with them, every enemy in the vicinity should also be dead. If you didn't, the strongest enemy should still be standing, but with low health -- bash the remaining life out of them!
