THUNDERHEAD AMARA · a Nimbus and Damage Over Time Amara build for Mayhem 10Amara build by Stone_Swan updated 4 weeks ago
The Nimbus class mod creates a damaging cloud when Amara hits an enemy with her action skill. That cloud applies a damage over time (dot) and the strength of that dot is based on the damage of the gun you are holding, including any gun damage modifiers (like anointments and skills that give +gun damage). This used to be a very strong attack in Mayhem 1.4 if you held, for example, and Ion Cannon. In Mayhem 2.0, enemy health outscales gun damage by nearly 5 to 1 relative to the old Mayhem 1.4. We are adding other dots and forms of attack to help us overcome that difference.
Action Skill: Ties that Bind. Creates the cloud around the grasped enemy and sends the following types of damage through the linkage:
Nimbus dot damage on a linked enemy (i.e., enemies that are near the grasped enemy and catch the dot from the cloud)
Any of the above damage transfers also heal us.
Action Skill Element: Fire
Weapon: Nukem with 50/150 radiation anointment (uRad). This anointment allows us to get a fourth element for our dots. The Nukem has a high card damage, but also can apply dots of its own through bonus elements and the uRad.
Class Mod: Nimbus. Points into Tempest are best. Violent Tapestry is second best (dot application is never guaranteed). Conflux adds no benefit.
Artifact: Pearl of Ineffable Knowledge. Increases gun damage and the Nimbus dot accounts for this.
Grenade: Doc Hina's Miracle Bomb with Corrosive ASE. Awesome damage over time grenade that gets boosted even further by uRad. Can do over 3M damage per second on flesh enemies.
Shield: Front Loader with Shock ASE. Allows us to use uRad.
Additional Weapon: Facepuncher with uRad. Our Groundbreaker damage will always be high because of our dots. This gun is great for getting up from FFYL. You can also just try punching if you have an enemy near you.
Ideal mayhem modifiers: Speed Demon, Healy Avenger, Chain Gang or Drone Ranger, Not the Face.
Don't get to close to enemies, dance around to avoid damage (we don't have health gate because of uRad / Front Loader). Grasp in the middle of groups of enemies and watch them explode. Shoot your Nukem and throw your Miracle bomb to add more dots and take out stragglers or help melt tankier enemies. Don't worry about direct hits with the Nukem - use it to apply dots in a large radius and stagger enemies. Sometimes you'll see Indiscriminate proc and get extra nukes! Punch any enemies that get up in your face and they'll usually explode from Groundbreaker.
If you're farming a single target tanky enemy, switch to Fist Over Matter for additional damage from the action skill itself. Grasp, Bomb, Nuke, repeat. Versus some single targets, it may be faster to use a 300 Phaseslam Ion Cannon, put Radiation ASE on your shield, and switch to Fracture. There are better builds for farming single targets, tbh.
