In-Depth Explanation Document

The point of this build is to use our punches to deliver Groundbreaker (GB) damage from Phasecast, grenades, radiation explosions, and Remnant. uRad buffs our damage across the board. As a melee build without health gate, we need to stay out of danger. Cast at enemies, throw grenades, and perform "drive by" punches that deliver a ton of damage. If an enemy explodes, that usually means you've got a lot of GB damage -- punch again. When everything is working right, we're delivering 1-shot GB punches in quick succession. Also, this build rewards melee critical hits. See the doc for details.

Gear

uRad Unforgiven - our main punching weapon. Look for the highest crit damage and the 60% melee damage attachment.

uRad Facepuncher - for bosses, flying enemies, and FFYL.

[Optional] Phasecast Facepuncher - for faster bossing/farming

Front Loader with 100% melee ASE - look for parts that make it recharge faster, such as recharge rate, +max health, health charge, fortify charge, and shield booster charge. There can be over a 5 second depletion-to-full difference between Front Loaders with different parts.

Doc Hina's Miracle Bomb with 50% bonus element of your choice (I prefer Cryo) - a powerful grenade all on its own, but uRad doubles its damage. We loop this damage again with GB. The bonus element, as well as uRad, gets added to GB damage.

Stone class mod with points into Awakening and Do Harm - tons of damage reduction that allow us to survive some attacks even with our 40% health when our shield is down. The skills boost Phasecast damage, as well. Violent Tapestry points offer no benefit. Look for Action Skill Cooldown Rate passive.

{Element} Stone Static Charge with AoE passive - the area damage/radius passive is extremely important when it comes to groups of tough enemies. Without it, stringing together kills becomes a pain. I prefer Corrosive Stone. Also look for Action Skill Cooldown Rate.

[Slaughtershaft Option] Unleash the Dragon - only for the hardest area in the game for this build - Slaughtershaft. It allows us to punch and run away, so the DoT continues to build GB for the next drive-by. It means we don't have to linger to finish off enemies; we can get them low and move on / run away. Not recommended outside of Slaughtershaft or light mobbing like Athenas or the first few rounds of Slaughterstar 3000.

Mayhem Modifiers

Easy - Speed Demon, definitely. We have to jump in and out of the action quickly.

Medium - Healy Avenger

Hard - Chain Gang or Drone Ranger. Chain Gang shouldn't be an issue because we shouldn't be in the midst of a group. Drone Ranger is harmless and makes for easy 2nd Winds, however they do tend to eat Remnant Orbs.

Very Hard - Not the Face is the least of many evils.

Misc Notes

Feel free to use the Facepuncher liberally during the Guardian Takedown. The GTD is designed to be as frustrating as possible for actual punching builds, unless you take full advantage of TTB. And I have no interest in doing that. Use Glamour during the crystal phases for an easy time.

Use Glamour during Slaughtershaft (along with Unleash the Dragon). The aggro relief is essential. Don't Phasecast twice in a row unless the first one was bad. Spacing out the casts makes for longer aggro relief.
