M4 Gamma Burst Crit buildFl4k build by PossumSoul updated 1 month ago
(only posting so I don't have to keep typing it all out on different sites) Required gear: -Maggie pistol with 65% radiation damage during gamma burst anointment -Kill-o-the-wisp shotgun with the same anointment -Victory Rush relic with % pistol damage (atom balm prefix is preferable, but not absolutely required) -Decent shield (Transformer or Stog-Gap is usually a go to for me) with % elemental damage on ase (action skill end) to help with damage decrease during cooldown -Red Fang legendary class mod with either % Jakobs crit damage or % pistol damage (if you can get both on a god roll, go for it). -Any grenade with 25% damage on throw anointment, or a trans-fusion grenade (helps with keeping health up)
This build is one I specced into for mayhem 4. It melts mobs pretty quickly and makes mayhem 3 even easier. It's a really hard-hitting build that takes out some of the bullet-sponginess of the mobs in mayhem 4 by simply being that powerful. With Megavore, coupled with the x6 multiplier of the Maggie pistol, nearly every hit you deal will be a critical. And with the bonus radiation damage during Gamma Burst and the critical damage bonus from the gear, it makes short work of any mob you come across. The Red Fang helps a lot with crowd control to allow you to focus more on picking off enemies while they target your Skag. When things get too crowded and hectic, switch over to the Kill-o-the-wisp and simply fire it across the map to quickly strip shields and armor, and clear out some of the easier mobs.
All that being said, there are some downsides, mainly coming from when Gamma Burst is on cooldown. Headcount helps, but it's not as dependable as Eager to Impress is when it comes to decreasing the cooldown since Eager to Impress is a guaranteed cooldown, while Headcount is just a 30% chance on scoring a critical hit. Your skag will still go down outside of Gamma Burst pretty quickly, so you'll either have to either switch out your Red Fang for a Friend-bot, or deal with the increased cooldown the next time around when you use Gamma Burst to get him out of either FFYL or out of cooldown.
This build is still a bit lack-luster in terms of bossing when compared to a Fade Away build, but it's great for bosses that either don't have a dedicated map (like Graveward or Rampager) that you have to run to on m4 like Captain Traunt, but it's also great for bosses that constantly spawn ads (like Wotan).
